I FOUND IT

THE BEST PAINTING OF ALL TIME

It’s called Adam and Eve (or something along those lines, there’s two versions and it’s translated) and the first time I saw it I couldn’t stop laughing for a solid five minutes.

Just look at this shit.

If you just glance at it, it looks like God is flipping off Adam and Eve.

Then you have Adam here like “Hey man, why are you so pissed at me, its all her fault.”

Meanwhile the animals look like someone took a candid photo with a really bright camera flash, even though this was painted in 1623.

The horse is stoned as hell.

Even the babies with God have no clue what is going on, this kid is confused as fuck.

Also, motherfuckin’ flying baby heads because why the hell not.

Like it’s so random the entire rest of the painting is like “what the fuck is this shit.”

Best painting ever.

Japan’s Spectacular Tunnels of Light.

If you happen to be in Japan from now until March 31st, 2013, be sure to check out one of Japan’s most stunning displays of light called Winter Illuminations at Nabana no Sato, a botanical garden turned light theme park on the island of Nagashima in Kuwana. Opened just yesterday, it’s already been called one of the best winter light shows in all of Japan. The park really outdoes itself by using millions of sparkling LED’s all over the vast grounds including on the water and in the gardens. This years theme is ‘nature’ and it promises gorgeous scenes including a beautiful sunrise inspired by Mt. Fuji at dawn, a rainbow across the sky, and even an aurora. The stars of the show are the famous walk-through tunnels of light that completely envelop the viewer, making it seem as if they’re walking through bright, magical portals.

Via My Modern Met.

I think we should go earlier than April.

Woah.

Barry Underwood - Light Installations:

1. Blue Line, 2010

2. Trace (Yellow), 2008

3. Pink, 2008

These images are documentations of full-scale installations that are built on-site in the landscape. Using illusion, imagination, and narrative, my photographs explore the potential of the ordinary. I approach my photographic work with a theatrical sensibility, much like a cinematographer or set designer would. By reading the landscape and altering the vista through lights and photographic effects, I transform everyday scenes into unique images. Light and color alter the perception of space, while defamiliarizing common objects. Space collapses, while the lights that I install appear as intrusions and interventions. This combination renders the forms in the landscape abstract. Inspired by cinema, land art, and contemporary painting, the resulting photographs are both surreal and familiar. They suggest a larger narrative, and yet that narrative remains elusive and mystifying.

Loyal Loot Collective makes these amazing bowls carved out of rough logs (bark still intact) and hollows out the top in a bowl form that is lacquered with wild, glossy color.

The juxtapositions of rough/shiny, rustic/slick, earthy/colorful are what make this collection so irresistible.

Oh wow!! These are great!

In this project, Time, John Clang photographs pedestrian traffic along the city streets of New York at various times. He then tears multiple photographs into strips, akin to the pieces of a broken mirror, and then puts them together into a single frame. By combining split seconds into one moment he confronts issues of intimacy among crowds of strangers.

Wow. That’s really brilliant.

Two thousand dandelions were painstakingly plucked, sprayed with adhesive and loaded into a custom-made wooden transporter so they could be brought to a gallery and hung from the ceiling in a surreal installation by Regine Ramseier.
